In continuity and complementarity with the previous editions (which focused on dialect variation and minority languages and whose programme <\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">can be consulted <\/span><a class=\"XqQF9c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ethnorema.it\/en\/language-documentation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">here<\/span><\/a><span class=\"C9DxTc \">), particular attention will be paid to two languages of Africa: <\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Amazigh<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">, an Afro-Asiatic language, and <\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Nara<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">, a Northern East Sudanic language.<br \/><\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">The programme of the LDSS 2026 will deal with the various methodological aspects of language documentation, presented through concrete case studies by specialists in the field. The lectures will involve discussions of the theory and practice of language documentation, description and revitalisation, also addressing the issues of the ethical aspects of language research and of the collaboration with local communities, and the problems that a researcher may encounter and their possible solutions.\u00a0<br \/><\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Practical training sessions<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \"> are planned, in which participants will become familiar with the main tools used for collecting, processing and analysing data. These sessions will include as well the participation of consultants, native speakers of the two languages investigated. School<\\\/span><\\\/strong>, to be held in Bozen from 15th to 19th July 2024 (previous editions available\\u00a0<u><a href=\\\"https:\\\/\\\/www.ethnorema.it\\\/en\\\/language-documentation\\\/\\\">here<\\\/a><\\\/u>).\\n\n\n<p style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">\\u200b<i>The Language Documentation Summer School 2024<\\\/i> (LDSS 2024) aims to provide participants with an introduction to the methods and tools of linguistic fieldwork to document lesser used languages.
